100 Thieves have punched their ticket to the semifinals at Stake Pulse Beat III following a convincing victory over Sangal in the opening playoff round. The squad led by Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen made light work of their opponents, closing out a clean 2-0 series while conceding single-digit rounds on both battlegrounds.
HLTV reports that 100 Thieves' Major qualification chances have surged to 67% following this result. Those odds would skyrocket to 97% should they claim the Stake Pulse Beat III championship.
Sangal selected Nuke for the opening map and looked promising early on, establishing a 7-5 advantage at the break from their terrorist side. However, Gizmy orchestrated an exceptional counter-terrorist performance in the second half, with 100 Thieves surrendering just a single round to close out the map 13-8.
Dust2, chosen by 100 Thieves, told a similar story. Despite Sangal winning the pistol round, they couldn't capitalize on the opportunity as 100 Thieves seized control. The North American-European hybrid built an 8-4 cushion after their attacking half, then delivered another dominant defensive display. Sangal managed only one round in the second period as 100T wrapped up the map 13-5.
Nicolai "device" Reedtz delivered a masterclass performance, tallying 40 eliminations across both maps to spearhead his team's triumph.
100 Thieves will face MIBR tomorrow in the semifinals at Stake Pulse Beat III. Victory in that encounter would send them straight into the grand final later that same day.
