Spirit have clinched the last available playoff position at ESL Pro League Season 24 following a convincing 2-0 triumph over M80, taking maps 13-6 on Dust2 and 13-10 on Cache.
This marked Spirit's third qualification bid at the tournament after previous setbacks against MOUZ and 1win. Despite encountering resistance on M80's map selection Cache, they managed to secure their advancement. Danil "donk" Kryshkovets delivered a strong performance, while decisive clutch plays from Boris "magixx" Vorobiev and Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov proved instrumental in closing out the series.
Dust2 saw Spirit dominate proceedings, with donk establishing early momentum and trash-talking opponents as "fucking bots" during a dominant opening half. M80 captured the initial pistol round thanks to a four-kill spree from Josh "JBa" Barutt, but struggled to maintain consistency until converting their second pistol victory. Poor late-round decision-making hampered their comeback efforts as Spirit closed the map decisively, with donk, Myroslav "zont1x" Plakhotia, and sh1ro all contributing solid performances.
Cache presented M80 with opportunities to respond, as they outplayed Spirit throughout much of the first half with effective preparation countering Spirit's early aggression. They built an 8-4 advantage by halftime, though this could have been more substantial had they not surrendered a 1v4 ace to magixx and a subsequent 1v3 to sh1ro two rounds afterward.
Following the side switch, M80 continued winning opening engagements and accessing bomb sites despite economic disadvantages. However, exceptional retake execution and fragging from donk, magixx, and sh1ro enabled Spirit to mount a remarkable 7-1 streak, seizing control of the match. After M80 finally secured one late-round situation, Spirit immediately responded to claim victory, prompting Fritz "slaxz-" Dietrich to comment, "there are too many cooks in the kitchen."
