Brazilian esports powerhouse LOUD has terminated their Counter-Strike division before making any official announcement about the team's existence.
In-game leader Leonardo "zmb" Toledo and head coach Pablo "disturbed" Fernandes confirmed via X that their contracts have been terminated. The duo stated the squad plans to remain intact while staying receptive to individual opportunities from other organizations.
Reports suggest LOUD finalized the acquisition of the LP lineup back in May, even publishing a teaser on X hinting at their Counter-Strike expansion. Sources at Dust2 Brasil indicate the organization funded tournament entry fees and facilitated a training bootcamp in Portugal.
The LP squad recently placed 5th-8th at three back-to-back LAN tournaments in Portugal: Roman Imperium Cup VIII, HyperX Retake Season 12, and LeonBet Masters Season 1.
This development arrives during challenging times for Brazilian esports following President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's executive order prohibiting fixed-odds sports wagering, implemented just days before the initial presidential election round.
Wednesday saw Keyd Stars declare a suspension of their Counter-Strike operations, attributing the decision to "recent shifts in the competitive scene and changes to the nation's commercial and regulatory framework."
The roster includes Leonardo "zmb" Toledo, Leonardo "Leomonster" Enrique, Alisson "Alisson" Farias, Guilherme "happ" Bento, Gustavo "divine" Santicioli Altapini, with Pablo "disturbed" Fernandes serving as coach.
