The lower bracket's fourth round of CROSSFIRE Season 6 concluded yesterday with all matches ending in decisive 2-0 sweeps.
LAG's series against DETONATE started smoothly on Anubis, DETONATE's map selection. LAG dominated with a comfortable 13-5 victory, establishing early control of the series.
However, the second map turned into an absolute nail-biter. Neither squad could gain a decisive advantage as the game pushed into overtime after overtime. It took four extra periods before LAG finally edged out their opponents 25-23 to complete the sweep. Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore was the star performer, racking up 44 eliminations—five more than anyone else in the server.
Meanwhile, Jake "Stewie2K" Yip's Without a Roof squad looked dominant throughout their matchup with F5. They controlled F5's Mirage pick from the start, building a solid 9-3 lead on the CT side and closing it out 13-7. Justin "FaNg" Coakley topped the scoreboard with 22 kills.
Inferno was even more one-sided, as Without a Roof allowed just a single round, crushing F5 13-1 to seal the 2-0 series win. Timothy "autimatic" Ta showcased remarkable consistency during the LAN, finishing with an impressive 40 kills against only 19 deaths.
In other lower bracket action, Villainous defeated Zomblers while Iowa Stormboar overcame Addice, both in 2-0 fashion.
The tournament continues September 26th with Olympus facing Overtake Sector at 7:30 PM, followed by two matches on September 28th at 8:00 PM: Villainous versus LAG and Iowa Stormboar against Without a Roof.
