ENVY eliminated 0-2 at Stake Pulse Beat III in comeback event

October 15, 20262 min read

ENVY's return to competitive Counter-Strike has ended in disappointment at Stake Pulse Beat III. The French organization, competing in their first CS event since 2020, were eliminated without a single series win, finishing with a 1-4 map record.

The setback came through consecutive defeats to HEROIC and MIBR, causing ENVY's chances of reaching PGL Major Singapore to plummet from 31% down to just 17%.

Against HEROIC, ENVY showed flashes of promise in a tight opening series. Though they dropped their map selection in overtime, the French roster bounced back with a convincing Inferno victory powered by strong Terrorist-side play. However, Ancient proved disastrous as the Swedish opposition dominated 13-4.

The MIBR matchup followed a similar trajectory. The Brazilian squad claimed Anubis 13-7 before punishing ENVY on Ancient once again, this time with a brutal 13-5 scoreline.

Individual performances varied wildly across the two matches. Bryan "Maka" Canda topped the server with a 1.35 rating versus HEROIC, while Jeremy "Kursy" Gast struggled in that series. The roles reversed against MIBR, where Kursy improved to a 1.06 rating.

The tournament loss cost ENVY 22 VRS points, dropping them from 27th to 28th in rankings. With zero prize money earned and their Major qualification hopes severely damaged, the French squad will look to secure their first win at next week's DraculaN 7 event.
